One flat rate per format, any time of day. Board, rash guard and instructor always included.
Surf lesson prices around Bali vary a lot depending on the school, the beach and whether equipment is bundled in or billed separately. We keep ours simple: one flat 2-hour rate per format, the same whether you book the glassy early-morning window or a sunset session, with the surfboard and rash guard already built into the number — not a separate rental line added at the end.
The three tiers below cover every way people usually want to learn: group for a social, budget-friendly first try, semi-private for couples, friends or a parent and child who want more attention without the full private price, and private for anyone who wants the whole two hours focused on them.
Payment is settled on the beach at the end of the lesson, in Indonesian Rupiah. The USD figures in the table below are only there to help you budget a trip — the amount you're actually charged is always quoted and paid in IDR.
Per person, per 2-hour lesson. Board and rash guard included in every tier.
Prices in Rupiah, each format booked as a 2-hour block. USD figures are an indicative conversion — the amount you pay is always charged in IDR.
Six reasons the number you see on WhatsApp is the number you pay on the beach.
Board, rash guard and instructor time are always bundled into the quoted price.
Same price whether you book 6:30 AM glass or a sunset session.
First-timers and improving surfers pay the same tier rate — group, semi-private or private.
Semi-private naturally lowers the per-person cost versus a full private lesson.
Settle up on the beach once the session is done, not an advance online deposit.
Pay in Rupiah by cash or bank transfer — ask on WhatsApp if card is available that day.
Group for budget and social, semi-private for a couple or parent-child, private for full attention.
We confirm the rate, your date and time — no payment taken at this stage.
Settle in IDR by cash or bank transfer once your 2-hour lesson is finished.
Notes from people who booked across every price tier.
“Private lesson turned into a proper coaching session — footage review, tips on my paddle timing, the works. Worth every rupiah for how fast it moved my surfing along.”
“Complete first-timer, scared of the whitewater honestly, and the instructor just walked me in slowly and kept the board pointed the right way until I stopped panicking. Stood up on my fourth attempt. Did not expect that on day one.”
“Was staying in Berawa for a month and did three group sessions here — you can tell the coaches actually live and surf this stretch, they read the sandbanks better than any school I've used elsewhere in Bali.”
The questions we get most often about cost and payment.
Our rates stay the same year-round — Rp 400.000 group, Rp 500.000 semi-private, Rp 650.000 private. We don't run a wet-season discount or a peak-season markup; the price you see is the price you pay whenever you book.
Booking as a semi-private or group naturally brings the per-person cost down versus private. We don't currently run a fixed multi-day package discount, but if you're planning several sessions across your trip, mention it on WhatsApp — we're happy to talk through what fits your budget and goals.
Payment is collected on the beach at the end of the session, once you've actually had your lesson — not a deposit taken in advance online.
Yes — board and rash guard are built into all three price tiers (group, semi-private, private). There is no separate board-rental line item added on top.
Prices and payment are in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). The USD figures on this page are an indicative conversion for international visitors budgeting a trip — the amount actually charged is always in IDR.
No hidden add-ons for a standard 2-hour lesson — board, rash guard and instructor are all in the quoted price. The one thing that is separate is transport to and from your accommodation, if you need us to arrange it rather than making your own way to the beach.
